Back to the Ice Age

I know. Just what you wanted to see. More snow.

I woke up this morning and was startled to find that our spring showers had turned to snow overnight.

(By the way, I think the tiki torch lends a certain poignancy to the above photo. Don’t you?)

Anyway, the flakes were enormous. They looked like ping pong balls. I had to go outside for a closer look.

And, they turned out to be not flakes at all, but globs – great big globs of snow falling from the sky.

Happily, I didn’t have anywhere to go, but CPT America did, and he spent an hour driving a route than normally takes him fifteen minutes.

The roads were that bad.

Later, while out and about in Connecticut, I spotted a sign for a canoe and kayak race. It had been scheduled for this past weekend.

The event has been re-scheduled for May. Probably wise.

I’m beginning to wonder if┬áSpring has been rescheduled for May, too.

From the dining room table, promising to write about something other than cold and snow tomorrow,

    • CPT America hates to get stuck in traffic! He’s always trying to find ways to avoid it – secret shortcuts and the like.

  1. I think that is the storm that came through here over the weekend. It turned into snow for us as well. Unreal. Tomorrow is APRIL!

    • Thankfully, the weather righted itself pretty quickly, but still! I was so excited today when I saw something green popping up in the yard. It’s about time!
