More Ice Box Crochet

Posted by mrssmythe on March 20, 2018 in Crafting |

You may remember that I’ve been crocheting play food for Ginger using patterns found in Wai Yee Ng’s Ice Box Crochet – a book that amazes me every time I open it. Such creativity!

Here you see our most recent additions: a hamburger, flan on a pedestal, eggs (Easter colored), and a plate that reminds me a bit of Fiestaware. Ginger uses these items in the various tableaux she sets up with her stuffed animals.

Small and quick to make, the items are great for using up stray bits of yarn. Also – Ginger is thrilled to add to her “restaurant set”, and it’s fun to sit down with her and plot out what I’ll work on next.

I’ll leave you with a shot of one of my favorite crocheted pieces to date…this hamburger:

Isn’t that fun? I love the lettuce.

From the dining room table, with more snow in the forecast for tomorrow,
