I was both happy and dismayed to see signs of Spring in the front yard this morning.
Happy, because it will be so nice to see the plants and leaves return. (Those are the tiger lilies, by the way).
Happy, too, because I’m ready to be warm again. (Those are the sedum).
But maybe a tiny bit dismayed because I’m not quite ready for yard work. (Those branches belong to my favorite lilac – the one near the chicken coop).
I was just reflecting today that I need to trim the butterfly bush, tidy up the rock wall, prop up a baby tree, cut down last year’s dead stems…and so on and so on.
What I really need is one good, warm day with lots of sun. That will get me motivated to work in the yard again. Saturday might be just the day. Here’s hoping the weather will cooperate. (By the way, that’s creeping sedum above – not to be confused with the other sedum in the second picture).
